Posted: April 18, 2014

PHOENIX - The two-time WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury today announced its 2014 local television broadcast schedule, which will allow fans to see eight regular season games on the team's exclusive local television partner, FOX Sports Arizona, or FOX Sports Arizona Plus.

The Mercury's 2014 season opener on Saturday, May 17, against the Seattle Storm at US Airways Center will tip-off local television coverage, as FOX Sports Plus broadcasts Phoenix's season launch. Last season, the Mercury's opener garnered the highest national television viewership for a regular season WNBA game since 2004.

The Mercury will be featured on FOX Sports Arizona three times: Friday, June 27, on the road against the 2012 WNBA Champion Indiana Fever; Wednesday, July 9, at home against Seattle; and Thursday, July 17, hosting the Connecticut Sun. Those last two games lead up to the nationally-televised Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star 2014, hosted by the Mercury at US Airways Center on Saturday, July 19, at 12:30 p.m.

Five Mercury contests will be aired on FOX Sports Arizona Plus, including the season opener and the home finale on Saturday, August 16 against the rival Los Angeles Sparks. Three of those five games are road contests, including tilts with the San Antonio Stars (June 7, Aug. 7) and the Atlanta Dream (Aug. 13).
