Phoenix Suns guard Devin “Mr. 70″ Booker has purchased a block of 270 tickets for the Mercury’s single-elimination Round 1 playoff game at Arizona State University’s Wells Fargo Arena this Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. Those tickets will be available to be claimed on a first-come, first-served basis by students with a valid college ID on the north side of the arena beginning at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
At just 20 years old, Booker would himself be a junior in college had he not been an early-entry candidate in the 2015 NBA Draft. The second-year phenom scored a Suns’ single-game franchise record 70 points last March, and has already tallied 2,774 points through his first two seasons, trailing only LeBron James (4,649), Kevin Durant (3,495) and Carmelo Anthony (3,228) four fourth-most points in NBA history by a play before turning 21 years old. The former Kentucky standout holds career averages of 18.0 points, 3.0 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 154 career games (129 starts).
Booker, who attends multiple Mercury games every season, was featured in a Mercury TV spot about the quality of the team and the league, and was also part of the NBA’s “Lean In” campaign about men supporting women.
