Mercury Clinch Round 1 Home Game In 2017 WNBA Playoffs

Tickets are on sale now to see the three-time WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury in the 2017 WNBA Playoffs, after the team clinched a Round 1 home game by virtue of the team’s win over Connecticut tonight.  The Mercury will host a single-elimination game to tip-off the postseason on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Wells Fargo Arena on the campus of Arizona State University against the Seattle Storm.

Phoenix (17-16) cannot finish any lower than sixth in the WNBA standings and can still finish as high as fifth.  The Mercury originally sealed its franchise-record fifth-straight playoff berth on Sunday in Seattle.  It will be the Mercury’s 12th visit to the postseason in franchise history and the ninth in the last 12 years.  Mercury Head Coach Sandy Brondello also became the first coach in franchise history to make four-straight postseason appearances.
