Phoenix Mercury fans are invited to Talking Stick Resort Arena on Saturday, Sept. 24 to watch the Mercury take on the New York Liberty in the second round of the 2016 WNBA Playoffs. The game, which is a single-elimination matchup, will tip-off at 4 p.m. Phoenix time with doors opening at 2:30 p.m.
During the watch party, fans will have the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind Mercury art, created by the Art Institute of Phoenix, and donate children’s books, with all the proceeds benefitting the Penny Taylor: One for the Books reading initiative. This initiative was designed by the Mercury to celebrate the 12-year career of one of the franchise’s most beloved and accomplished players, while also supporting a cause that has been at the heart of Taylor’s community efforts.
While enjoying the game, fans can hang out with Mercury mascot Scorch and members of the Hip Hop Squad. Attendees will also have the opportunity to buy Mercury gear in the Team Shop until 5 p.m. and will enjoy complimentary parking in the arena garage. Guests can also buy a California Classic Value Meal and receive special-edition Mercury player faces at the Carl’s Jr. location inside the arena.
