Despite scoring 24 or more points in all three games this week, Kelsey Bone and Liaoning Hengye finished with a 1-2 record over the last six days. While eight teams in the Chinese League saw one week of rest, four teams played two games in four days to determine the final spots in the two new divisions of the second stage of the Chinese League; Bone’s team was one of those four. She led Liaoning to a 70-67 win over Guangdong on November 12, scoring 24 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Three days later, Bone scored 25 points and finished with 12 rebounds, but fell to Guangdong, 66-74. The two scores between Liaoning and Guangdong from their matchups on the 12th and 15th were tallied together to determine the winner. Guangdong narrowly topped Liaoning, totaling 141 total points in the two games, while Liaoning finished with 136 total points. Liaoning was sent to the lower division, where the team opened up second-stage play with a 65-73 loss on Thursday. For the second-straight game, Bone scored 25 points. The Mercury center grabbed nine rebounds and had three assists as well. Through 13 games, Bone currently ranks fourth in the Chinese League in scoring (29.0 ppg) and fifth in rebounds (11.6 rpg)

Sonja Petrovic led USK Praha to a 101-42 win on November 12 after scoring a game-high 20 points. Petrovic shot 50-percent (six-of-12) from the field and knocked down three triples in the blowout win. The Serbian dished five assists and grabbed three rebounds as well, helping move Praha to a perfect 10-0 record in the ZBL League. Praha will return to action on November 27.

Marta Xargay scored 11 points and pulled down five rebounds in USK Praha’s 101-42 win on November 12. Xargay shot five-of-nine from the field and finished with three steals in 22 minutes of play. Xargay and Petrovic will have several days off, as Praha, the leaders of the ZBL League at 10-0, will not play again until November 27.
