Terina Matthews-Davis

Terina J. Matthews-Davis, a 36-year member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, is the proud
chapter President of the Phoenix Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter. She is served in this role since
2024.

She is an HR professional by trade and as a connector and collaborator by heart! In her role as Chapter President, she has worked with the 6 chapters of Delta Sigma Theta throughout the state of Arizona to support the Sorority’s “Deltas in the Stands” initiative of Black Women supporting Black women and increasing the number of women in the stands to support the Merc. Last year, through her efforts, the Sorority sold more than 300 tickets across the Merc regular and post season games. Terina is passionate about women supporting women and loves all things women’s athletics, making her support of the Mercury a natural fit. 

She holds a wealth of expertise in talent program development & management, campus and lateral recruiting & hiring, organizational design, compensation, employee relations and DEI. 

As a global HR executive, Terina has led HR teams of many Fortune 500 organizations including: LBrands, Yum!Brands, JP Morgan Chase & Co., S&P Global, FIS Global, Wells Fargo & Alexander Mann Solutions. 

Before joining the world of corporate HR, Terina worked for 12 years in various leadership roles at The Ohio State University including the Director of Student Affairs Orientation, Student Judicial Affairs, Associate Director of MBA Admissions & Recruitment within the Fisher College of Business. 

Terina received her BA in Middle School Education from the University of Louisville and both her Masters in Higher Education and Masters in Human Resources from The Ohio State University. As a current FCOB Alumni Board member she is proud to have served on the alumni board of both of her alma maters and is passionate about the giving of her time, talent and treasures to both universities having started a for support the Darlene Matthews Scholarship (in recognition of her mother who told her that education is the way out) to support underrepresented students in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University. Terina is a 36-year member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and in her spare time, she loves walking, bike riding, watching all franchises of the Real Housewives, cooking, traveling, and speaking to college students on leadership development.

Terina is married to her childhood sweetheart and Columbus native Benjamin L. Davis, PhD.
