Mercury Hip Hop Squad Auditions 2017

Round one of auditions will take place on Tuesday, April 4; Finals on April 8 at Tempe Marketplace

The three-time WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury is looking for highly-energetic dancers to audition for the 2017 Mercury Hip Hop Squad on Tuesday, April 4 on the main court at Talking Stick Resort Arena. Registration begins at 6 p.m. with auditions starting at 7 p.m.

Those interested in auditioning must be at least 18 years of age by April 4. Free parking will be available in the attached garage on 1st Street and Jefferson. Participants are asked to enter through the stairwell located at the South East side of the arena. There is no fee to audition and please bring a non-returnable headshot and resume.

Members of the Hip Hop Squad are expected to dance at all Mercury home games, interact with fans and appear at select community events throughout the 2017 season.

Finalists from round one of auditions will be asked to return for a Training Camp Day on Thursday, April 6, where the participants will learn routines to perform at the finals. The final auditions will be on Saturday, April 8 at Tempe Marketplace on the main stage near Dave & Busters, and is open to the public for viewing. The finalists should arrive at 9:30 a.m. and the finals will begin at 10 a.m. Along with Phoenix Mercury staff, there will be a number of special guests who will judge the final auditions. In addition, along with introducing X-Factor to Hip Hop Squad finalists, the Phoenix Mercury will be introducing their new DJ for the season – DJ Dean Michaels.
