Mercury Releases Local TV Broadcast Schedule
PHOENIX – The three-time WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury today announced its 2015 local television broadcast schedule, which will allow fans to see nine regular season games on the team’s exclusive local television partner, FOX Sports Arizona, or FOX Sports Arizona Plus. A full television broadcast schedule is attached. Between the local broadcasts and nationally scheduled broadcasts, the Phoenix Mercury will be on television for 15 of their 34 games in 2015. The remaining 19 games will air via the LiveAccess broadcast on PhoenixMercury.com. One preseason game—May 28 vs. Seattle at 12:30 p.m.—will also air on LiveAccess.
The Mercury’s 2015 season opener on Friday, June 5, against the San Antonio Stars at US Airways Center will tip-off local television coverage on FOX Sports Arizona Plus. Hall-of-Famer Ann Meyers Drysdale returns to call the action for the Mercury alongside Kevin Ray who enters his 16th season calling Phoenix Mercury games.
The Mercury will be featured on FOX Sports Arizona six times: Friday, June 12 at Indiana at 4 p.m.; Thursday, June 25 at San Antonio at 5 p.m.; Tuesday, July 14 vs. Atlanta at 7 p.m.; Sunday, August 2 at Atlanta at Noon; Wednesday, August 12 vs. Seattle at 7 p.m. and Wednesday, September 2 vs. Washington at 12:30 p.m.
Three Mercury contests will be aired on FOX Sports Arizona Plus, including the season opener on June 5 vs. San Antonio at 7 p.m., Saturday, June 27 at Minnesota at 5 p.m. and Sunday, August 2 at Atlanta at Noon. Six Mercury games are also scheduled to air nationally on ESPN2.
In addition to games broadcast on television, fans can watch non-televised games through the club’s Live Access online broadcast. Fans can access the feed through PhoenixMercury.com where a total of 20 games will be broadcast through Live Access.
Sandy Brondello, 2014 WNBA Coach of the Year, leads 2014 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Brittney Griner, All-Star Candice Dupree and three-time WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year DeWanna Bonner as the Mercury open defense of their title on Friday, June 5 at 7 p.m. against the San Antonio Stars at US Airways Center.
