Phoenix Mercury Announce 2019 Preseason Schedule
The three-time WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury today announced its 2019 preseason schedule, which will feature a home game against 2018 WNBA All-Stars Candace Parker, Nneka Ogwumike, Chelsea Gray and the Los Angeles Sparks, and one away game against 2018 WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart, WNBA all-time assists leader Sue Bird and the defending WNBA Champion Seattle Storm.
The Mercury will open up its preseason slate on Saturday, May 11, at 7 p.m., against L.A. at Talking Stick Resort Arena, before taking to the road to square-off with Seattle on Wednesday, May 15 at 7 p.m. Due to renovations taking place at KeyArena, the game will take place at Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Wash. Following the Mercury’s two preseason games, Phoenix will open the regular season on Saturday, May 25 in Everett at 12:30 p.m. on ABC before hosting 2019 Fry’s Food Stores Opening Night on Friday, May 31, against the Las Vegas Aces on ESPN2.
After coming within one win of a trip to the WNBA Finals, the Phoenix Mercury return in 2019 in search of a league-record tying fourth WNBA title. Led by the All-Star trio of Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner and DeWanna Bonner, Phoenix opens its title quest on May 25 at Seattle on ABC.
