PHOENIX MERCURY ANNOUNCE ESPN NATIONAL BROADCAST SCHEDULE

National Broadcast Schedule

PHOENIX – Following a league-best 10th consecutive playoff appearance, the three-time WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury today announced four nationally broadcasted regular season games across ESPN networks for the team’s 2023 campaign. Nationally broadcasted games on other platforms and networks, including CBS Television Network, Paramount+, CBS Sports Network, NBA TV, Meta Horizon Worlds and Twitter, will be announced later, as will the team’s local broadcast slate.

The Mercury’s first two games of the season, the season and home debuts of Brittney Griner, will be broadcasted in front of a national audience on ESPN, first on Friday, May 19 against the Sparks in Los Angeles, and then hosting the Chicago Sky on Sunday, May 21 at Footprint Center in the Fry’s Food Stores Welcome Home Opener. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The team’s ESPN schedule is outlined below:

  • Friday, May 19 AT Los Angeles (ESPN/ESPN+)
  • Sunday, May 21 vs Chicago (Fry’s Food Stores Welcome Home Opener, ESPN/ESPN+)
  • Tuesday, July 25 AT Atlanta (ESPN)
  • Sunday, September 10 AT Las Vegas (ESPN2)

The 2023 regular season slate will see the Mercury play 40 games in 115 days, 20 at home and 20 on the road, with zero back-to-backs. The WNBA’s balanced schedule has Phoenix playing seven teams four times (Dallas, Indiana, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Seattle and Washington) and four teams three times (Atlanta, Chicago, Connecticut and New York).
