Phoenix Mercury Launch “The Chase” Digital Documentary

The Phoenix Mercury announced today the launch of “The Chase,” a season-long digital documentary series that will bring viewers closer to the action than ever before and highlight Mercury players, coaches and executives on the court, in the locker room and at home with their families throughout the 2018 WNBA season in their quest for the franchise’s fourth WNBA championship.  Full episodes of “The Chase,” which was developed and produced entirely in-house, can be viewed on PhoenixMercury.com or by downloading the Mercury App.

“We have the best players in the world, and it’s our responsibility to tell their stories and get them in front of more fans every day,” said Mercury COO Vince Kozar.  “We have loyal, passionate, incredible fans in the WNBA, and it’s our responsibility to find ways to bring them closer to the action and connect them more to our players.  ‘The Chase’ represents a commitment to provide fans with unprecedented insight into the lives of their favorite players both on and off the court.”

Episode 1 of “The Chase” is available now and highlights DeWanna Bonner’s return to the Mercury as she works to balance her personal life with the rigors of the WNBA following the birth of her twins last summer.  The debut episode also documents the Mercury war room during the 2018 WNBA Draft along with other front office moves during training camp as the roster takes shape in the lead up to the 2018 Fry’s Food Stores Opening Night.

Fans can follow the action all season long with new installments of “The Chase” scheduled to debut every two to three weeks throughout the entirety of the team’s 2018 campaign. Each chapter will take fans on a new journey both on and off the court with the likes of Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner, Bonner and the rest of the Mercury squad.

WNBA all-time leading scorer Diana Taurasi and 2017 WNBA scoring champion Brittney Griner return to Phoenix this summer to lead the Mercury in a quest for the franchise’s WNBA-record tying fourth championship.  Tickets for the team’s matchup with the Chicago Sky tonight (June 8) and the rest of the Mercury’s 2018 home games are available online at PhoenixMercury.com or by phone at 602-252-WNBA.
