The three-time WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury today announced its 2017 local television broadcast schedule, which will allow fans to view eight regular season games on the team’s exclusive local television partner, FOX Sports Arizona, or FOX Sports Arizona Plus. Between the local broadcasts and two nationally-televised games on ESPN2, the Mercury will be on television 10 times in 2017 (six home, four road), and the team’s remaining 11 home games will air via WNBA League Pass, the WNBA’s exclusive streaming service available on WNBA.com and PhoenixMercury.com.
FOX Sports Arizona coverage of the 2017 Mercury season begins on May 17 at 7 p.m. in a showdown of former WNBA champions, as the Indiana Fever visit Talking Stick Resort Arena. Three of the Mercury’s four matchups with its biggest rival, the Minnesota Lynx, will be televised locally for fans, including both visits to Minneapolis. Hall-of-Famer Ann Meyers Drysdale returns to call the action for the Mercury alongside Kevin Ray who enters his 18th season calling Phoenix Mercury games.
The Mercury will be featured on FOX Sports Arizona four additional times: Saturday, May 27 vs. Dallas at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, July 12 vs. Atlanta at 7 p.m.; Sunday, July 16 at Minnesota at 4 p.m.; and Sunday, July 30 vs. San Antonio at 3 p.m. Additionally, three Mercury games will air on FOX Sports Arizona Plus: Friday, June 30 vs. Minnesota at 7 p.m.; Tuesday, July 25 at Atlanta at 4 p.m.; and Tuesday, August 22 at Minnesota at 5 p.m. (FOX Sports North production). All Mercury games are also streamed on the FOX Sports Go app.
