Mercury Set Dates for Training Camp, Media Day
PHOENIX – The three-time WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury will begin preparation for the 2015 season with training camp that starts on Monday, May 18, at US Airways Center. The team will host its annual Media Day on the main court at US Airways Center on Monday, June 1 beginning at 10 a.m. A complete training camp schedule and roster are each attached to this release.
Media Day will feature interview and photo availability from 10 a.m. to noon on the main court for all players and staff of the Phoenix Mercury. Please RSVP to John H. For training camp, practice is scheduled for every day beginning Monday, May 18 through Monday, May 25 at US Airways Center. Practice is scheduled each day from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and will be open to the media beginning at approximately 11:30 a.m. each day. Practice schedules are subject to change and it is encouraged to contact John H. Steinmiller prior to arriving (jsteinmiller@phoenixmercury.com). Following two preseason games (May 26 at Seattle and May 28 vs. Seattle at US Airways Center, 12:30 p.m.), the team will resume training camp leading up to the home opener on June 5 at 7 p.m. vs. San Antonio. Sandy Brondello, 2014 WNBA Coach of the Year, leads 2014 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Brittney Griner, All-Star Candice Dupree and three-time WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year DeWanna Bonner as the Mercury open defense of their title on Friday, June 5 at 7 p.m. against the San Antonio Stars at US Airways Center.
