With playoff seedings already set, the Mercury notched their 20th win of the season on Friday vs. Los Angeles marking the first time in the 19-year history of the franchise that Phoenix recorded 20 wins in back-to-back seasons.

Sunday, however, the Mercury and Shock would meet for the fifth and final time of the regular season before they’ll meet again in the first round of the 2015 WNBA Playoffs in Phoenix on Thursday, September 17.

Understandably, since the two teams will face each other in the playoffs, none of the Mercury starters played and the Shock’s starters logged limited minutes.

Phoenix was on top for the majority of the game, but a 31-19 fourth quarter in favor of Tulsa helped seal the victory for the Shock.

Mistie Bass had a career game with 20 points, 12 rebounds and three assists. Cayla Francis added the team’s second double-double with 12 points and 12 boards. Monique Currie finished with 26 points – her second consecutive game with 20 or more points.

As a team, the Mercury shot 56-percent from the floor and out-rebounded Tulsa 32-25.

The Mercury will return to Phoenix to open the Western Conference Semi-Finals against the Shock on Thursday, September 17.
