Mercury Releases Local TV Broadcast Schedule

The three-time WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury today announced its 2016 local television broadcast schedule, which will allow fans to view six regular season games on the team’s exclusive local television partner, FOX Sports Arizona, or FOX Sports Arizona Plus. Between the local broadcasts and four nationally-scheduled broadcasts on ESPN or ESPN2, the Mercury will be on television 10 times in 2016, with an additional 12 home games airing via LiveAccess, the WNBA’s exclusive streaming service available on WNBA.com and PhoenixMercury.com. FOX Sports Arizona coverage of the 2016 Mercury season begins on May 25 at 7 p.m. in a showdown of winners of six of the last nine WNBA titles, as the rival Minnesota Lynx visit Talking Stick Resort Arena. The game will air live at 7 p.m. on FOX Sports Arizona Plus, and will be joined in-progress on FOX Sports Arizona following the conclusion of the Diamondbacks postgame show (approx. 7:30 p.m.).  Hall-of-Famer Ann Meyers Drysdale returns to call the action for the Mercury alongside Kevin Ray who enters his 17th season calling Phoenix Mercury games.

The Mercury will be featured on FOX Sports Arizona four additional times: Thursday, June 9 vs. San Antonio at 7 p.m.; Saturday, June 18 vs. Dallas at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, June 29 vs. Connecticut at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, and July 13 vs. Washington at 12:30 p.m. The Mercury’s home game against Atlanta on Sunday, September 11 will air on FOX Sports Arizona Plus at 3 p.m.
