During the 2022-23 NBA season, the Suns teamed up with artist Ashley Macias to create a limited edition Pride t-shirt for Pride Night. The design was a hit, and the Phoenix Mercury has partnered with Macias to create an exclusive shirt for the three-time WNBA Champions.
Born in California but raised in Arizona, Macias has been painting for as long as she can remember and professionally painting for more than a decade. Most recently, Macias teamed up with the NFL to create unique artwork for Super Bowl festivities. She has also created large murals that can be seen from city streets in downtown Phoenix.
“It’s my source of happiness,” Macias said reflecting on her passion for creating.
“Getting to work with the Phoenix Mercury for Pride Month is an exciting honor,” said Macias.
The Suns and Mercury shirt created by Macias are available now inside the Team Shop at Footprint Center. The collab is the latest example of the Suns and Mercury’s efforts to empower minority creatives and artists while celebrating the culture and accomplishments of the Valley community.
